Maths Teacher / ECT - September 2024 - Permanent role

A school in Leicestershire is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher to join their team starting in September on a permanent basis. The school welcomes both experienced and newly qualified teachers and provides great support to all team members.

The school has state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities and has been graded as 'Good' by Ofsted in their recent inspection. They offer a comprehensive curriculum from Key Stage 3 through to A-level and require the incoming Maths Teacher to have the confidence to teach up to GCSE level.

The school's CPD programme provides significant opportunities for personal development, and the best performers will have assured career progression as the school continues to grow. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications including a degree and QTS, a strong understanding of the Maths curriculum, and experience teaching Maths at the secondary school level.

The successful Maths Teacher will be passionate about inspiring their students to achieve their full potential, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment, and have a growth mindset, always striving to improve their teaching practice.

Person specification:

  • Hold a relevant degree and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary school level, or a strong understanding of the Maths curriculum
  • Be confident teaching up to GCSE level and have a good understanding of the A-level Maths curriculum
  • Be passionate about Maths and have a desire to inspire students to achieve their full potential
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Be committed to ongoing professional development and willing to participate in the school's CPD programme
  • Be dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, where all students feel valued and supported
  • Have a growth mindset and be open to feedback, always striving to improve your own teaching practice
